The Vowlá Finance department is searching for an Accounting Director to bring a wide range of accounting expertise and leadership to our growing team.
This is a key Finance Organization development position. Our expectations for candidates in this position are to demonstrate strong and effective communication over the internal and external reporting process. This position will report directly to the CFO at Vowlá corporate headquarters.

Pay Structure: Hourly

Minimum: 60 Hours (BiWeekly)

$35.00 an hour

Description

The vocation of Vowlá’s Account Director is to vow that all users and partners who have an account with the company will stay satisfied and current with ay payment flow. Account directors manage every existing affiliation, investment, and banking accounts while processing payments and ensuring partnership accounts are nurtured and up to date. Accounting Directors are known to team up with the Professional Development Director to motivate partnership existence and earnings.  

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Executive experience in creating schedules, processes, and reconciliations - specifically around retail accounting and revenue generating processes
Organize and prepare, post/reconcile standard monthly closing journal entries for assigned P&L and balance sheet accounts
Understanding of compensation expenses and the ability to work with payroll on developing processes and reconciliations
General understanding of revenue and sales flows - additional understanding of deferred revenue a plus
Assistance in data testing and validation of reports from POS/ERP and other implemented systems
Cash accounts reconciliation experience or knowledge of transactional processes with a POS system
Preparation of strong support files and excel models when asked to report on historical and forecasted expenses
Project lead for areas where accounting insight and analytical viewpoints are necessary for reporting
Help the Accounts Payable team and provide growth opportunities and leadership to junior members
Respond to inquiries from the field on a timely basis and provide information that is meaningful to the users
Work effectively with other departments, such as Accounts Payable, Payroll, FP&A, Real Estate and Operations in order to anticipate accounting impacts or changes to processes

QUALIFICATIONS:

- BA/BS degree in business with a concentration in Accounting/Finance
- Minimum 3 years experience in accounting primarily in the tech or hospitality industry
- High degree of skill in using Microsoft Excel, Word, Canva and PowerPoint
- Knowledge of JDEdwards and Hyperion is a plus
- Ability to review and find insight into reporting tasks - initiative a great plus in a fast-paced environment
- Attention to detail
- Creativity, flexibility, adaptability, positive teamwork skills and an ability to work cross-functionally
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and willingness to manage new projects with tight deadlines
- Highly developed written and verbal communication skills
